ZAGERT HERMANOS

Guitarras Zagert was founded more than 60 years ago, after brothers Otto and Ricardo Zagert arrived in Buenos Aires from the Province of Misiones, Argentina. They decided to start their commercial activity with a sawmill and later started manufacturing guitars in a small workshop located in Villa Tesei, Buenos Aires.
The Zagert brothers decided to venture into this area, without any previous experience in crafting musical instruments.
Soon Otto and Richard formed their families. Both families grew up on par with the factory. Both families grew on par with the factory among piles of wood and with the desire to see their factory grow.
Otto always dedicated himself to business management and Ricardo to production and the search for optimization and innovation of his products.
Today, their respective children follow in their parents’ footsteps in the family business with motivation intact. Throughout the years, Guitarras Zagert has modernized and optimized the quality controls and manufacturing processes, including exclusive and innovative design and production techniques, obtaining the unique sound that characterizes them.
Currently, the company has a production plant of more than 2500 square metres of covered surface, around 35 collaborators trained by the company in each of the areas, with a production of about 22.000 guitars per year.

The company uses the best wood and raw material from Argentina and different parts of the world to manufacture its instruments, with a careful selection of suppliers. Quality control in all construction processes has always been the main reason for the excellence of their products. The most frequently used woods are Sitka Spruce, Red Cedar of Canada, Sicomoro, Rosewood, Ebony, Jacarandá of India, Cedar of Brazil, among others.
Our guitars are of national industry by a mixture of industrial production and handmade finishes made by our collaborators with great experience in the manufacture of products so rooted in the culture and national tradition. The Creole guitar is an indispensable instrument in the meetings between friends and in every Argentine house. Our popular music, from folklore to melodic rock, is bound to accompany the Creole guitar.
The guitars are distributed in more than 230 regional stores, mainly in Argentina, but we also have clients in Uruguay and Perú, and occasionally, Premium models are exported to Spain, Austria and USA.
